The academic calendar at SMTU is divided into two semesters, as in many other universities in Russia. For convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. The university campus is located in Saint Petersburg. The school has a library where students can do their homework or just relax. The university cares about the physical health of students, so it provides a number of athletic opportunities: sports grounds and various clubs.
