Matej Bel University (UMB) — public non-profit university. It is located in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. The higher education institution was founded not so long ago — in 1992. UMB is working together with European University Association (EUA).

The academic calendar at UMB is divided into two semesters. For convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. There is free education at UMB, but only EU citizens can get it.
