Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) — public non-profit university. It is located in Sylhet, Bangladesh. The higher education institution is considered one of the youngest in the country, as it was founded in 1986. As a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, SUST is actively working on developing the academic environment.
The university was highly rated by the QS International Ranking of the best universities, and is in 1201 place in the world. The educational institution is in 1201 position of Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THE).
SUST conducts various scientific activities and is inviting students to join the research.

At SUST, the academic calendar is divided into two semesters. However, tuition fees are calculated per year. For local citizens, tuition fees at SUST start from 8 USD. International students pay a minimum of 1,000 USD per year. The university has several financial aid programs that help students cover part of the cost of education. Check the university website for up-to-date information on prices and scholarships.
Also, consider other expenses: accommodation, transportation, study materials, meals, and personal expenses.
For admission to SUST, applicants must pass entrance exams.

The city campus of SUST provides students with countless opportunities for work and recreation — from sitting in a coffee shop with a laptop to internships at large companies. Sylhet has a well developed entertainment infrastructure, but the rhythm of the big city can be distracting for some students. The university has a library where students can do their homework, write scientific papers or just read interesting books. Thanks to international exchange programs at SUST, students can communicate with representatives of different countries and nationalities and thus expand their own horizons. And, the university contributes to this by regularly holding joint events for local and foreign students.
There are several options to stay in the country after graduation. One of them is to get an offer from an employer and apply for a work visa. Read more about this on the embassy website. You can find other options for immigration in our article.
