KIMEP University (KIMEP) — private non-profit university. It is located in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The higher education institution was founded not so long ago — in 1992 — which is why it is considered one of the youngest in the country.
The university is in top-1000 of the best universities in the world, according to QS World University Rankings.
KIMEP offers bachelor and master programs in different fields of study.

As in many other universities in the country, the academic calendar at KIMEP is divided into two semesters. But for convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. Locals and foreigners study at KIMEP for the same price — from 5,458 USD per year. The university has several financial aid programs that help students cover part of the cost of education. On the official website of the university, you will find all the relevant information about tuition fees and scholarships.
It is necessary to pay attention to other costs: accommodation, transportation, study materials, food, and personal expenses.

Before applying, you need to pass the IELTS or TOEFL exam. The minimum IELTS score is 5.5. The TOEFL score is not lower than 70.
When considering candidates for master's programs, the admission committee of the university pays attention to the student's academic performance during the undergraduate program. To confirm your level of English, you must pass IELTS or TOEFL. The minimum TOEFL score for admission is 46. IELTS — 4.5 or higher.
The campus of KIMEP is located in Almaty. The urban campus is suitable for those students who, firstly, are used to independence, and secondly, cannot imagine their life without the hustle and bustle of a big metropolis. The university has a library, in the collection of which you will find not only textbooks and scientific works, but also works of the classics, modern literature and much more. KIMEP regularly invites foreign students to participate in exchange programs. For locals, this is a unique opportunity to get in touch with the cultures of other countries, meet representatives of different nationalities and make friends around the world.

There are several options to stay in the country after graduation. One of them is to get an offer from an employer and apply for a work visa. Read more about this on the embassy website. We talk about other options for immigration in our article.
