University of Rwanda (NUR) — public non-profit university. It is located in Butare, Rwanda. It is a modern higher education institution, established in 1963. As a member of Association of African Universities (AAU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), International Association of Universities (IAU), Inter University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), NUR is actively working on developing the academic environment.
NUR conducts scientific activity in several areas. More information can be found on the official site.

As in many other universities in the country, the academic calendar at NUR is divided into two semesters. But for convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. One year of studying at NUR will cost local citizens a minimum of 1 USD. For foreigners, the tuition fee is different — from 1,000 USD per year. The university has several financial aid programs that help students cover part of the cost of education. The cost of education and the availability of scholarships can be checked on the official website.
In addition to the cost of education, it is necessary to pay attention to additional costs: accommodation, transportation, study materials, meals and personal expenses.
The campus of NUR is urban. This means that students study closely to the sights and the entire recreational infrastructure of the city. This type of campus gives students more options for internships and part-time jobs. The university students have access to the library. It is an integral part of learning. Students come here for educational literature or to do their homework. NUR accepts students for international exchange programs. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in intercultural communication for both international and local students.

There are several options to stay in the country after graduation. One of them is to get an offer from an employer and apply for a work visa. Read more about this on the embassy website. Look for more immigration options in our article.
