Kampala International University (KIU) — private non-profit university. It is located in Kampala, Uganda. The higher education institution was founded not so long ago — in 2001 — which is why it is considered one of the youngest in the country. KIU is an active member of Association of African Universities (AAU).
KIU conducts scientific activity in several areas. More information can be found on the official site.

The academic calendar at KIU is divided into two semesters, as in many other universities in Uganda. For convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. Tuition fees at KIU are different for locals and foreigners. Uganda citizens pay 1 USD per year, while international students pay a minimum of 2,500 USD. The cost of education and the availability of scholarships can be checked on the official website.
When choosing an educational institution, it is necessary to take into account additional costs: accommodation, transportation, educational materials, meals and personal expenses.
The campus of KIU is urban. This means that students study closely to the sights and the entire recreational infrastructure of the city. This type of campus gives students more options for internships and part-time jobs. The university has a library, in the collection of which you will find not only textbooks and scientific works, but also works of the classics, modern literature and much more. KIU regularly invites foreign students to participate in exchange programs. For locals, this is a unique opportunity to get in touch with the cultures of other countries, meet representatives of different nationalities and make friends around the world.

There are many options to stay in the country after completing your studies at the university. One of them is to get an offer from an employer and apply for a work visa. Detailed information can be found on the embassy website. You can find other options for immigration in our article.
