The Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) is the oldest and most prestigious private university in Peru and the best regarded among all Peruvian universities due to its academic excellence, research, infrastructure and, above all, the reputation of its alumni, many of whom occupy important positions in the academic world, public administration and business, in Peru and abroad. From small beginnings, PUCP teaches 46 undergraduate degrees, 73 master's degrees and 16 doctorates in 11 faculties and a post-graduate school, supported by 15 academic departments. Today in our university there are around 19,000 full-time undergraduate students, 5,600 graduate students and 94,000 “lifelong learning” students in more than 2,000 continuing education programs. The faculty is formed by more than 4,000 lecturers, 500 of them full-time. In addition to a 410,000 m2 main campus, the university has 13 additional sites, including the historic Riva Agüero house, now home to university's Riva Agüero Institute and its invaluable historical and cultural collection. The University is engaged in the creation of new knowledge: the research Vice-rector, through the General Office of Research coordinates 17 institutes and research centers, with notable mention for the Structures Laboratory and the Centre of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (CETAM).
