University of New York Tirana (UNYT) — private for-profit university. It is located in Tirana, Albania. The higher education institution was founded not so long ago — in 2002 — which is why it is considered one of the youngest in the country. As a member of The Conference of Albania's University Rectors, UNYT is actively working on developing the academic environment.
UNYT does research in different fields of study and offers bachelor and master programs.
The academic calendar at UNYT is divided into two semesters, as in many other universities in Albania. For convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. At UNYT, tuition fees are equal for everyone — from 3,772 USD per year. The university has several financial aid programs that help students cover part of the cost of education. For up-to-date information on scholarships and the cost of education for each program, check the official website of the educational institution.
In addition to the cost of education, it is necessary to pay attention to additional costs: accommodation, transportation, study materials, meals and personal expenses.
Only students who successfully pass the entrance exams are admitted to bachelor's programs. Before applying to the university, you need to pass an exam for knowledge of the English language. The university accepts the results of TOEFL. The TOEFL score is not lower than 550.
Master's degree at UNYT
In order to enroll at UNYT for a master's program, you will have to confirm knowledge of the English language. You can do this by passing the exam — IELTS or TOEFL. The minimum IELTS score for admission is 6. TOEFL — 550 or higher.
The campus of UNYT is urban. This means that students study closely to the sights and the entire recreational infrastructure of the city. This type of campus gives students more options for internships and part-time jobs. The university has a library where students can do their homework, write scientific papers or just read interesting books. Student life at UNYT is filled with intercultural activities, as not only local students study here, but also students from abroad. The exchange of knowledge and experience, networking and new acquaintances — all this is an integral part of studenthood.
There are several options to stay in the country after graduation. One of them is to get an offer from an employer and apply for a work visa. Read more about this on the embassy website. We talk about other options for immigration in our article.
