Free University of Brussels Ilya Prigogine (HELB) — public non-profit institution. It is located in Brussels, Belgium. The higher education institution is considered one of the youngest in the country, as it was founded in 1995. As a part of European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education (ENPHE), European Network of Occupational Therapy in Higher Education (ENOTHE), European Federation of Nurse Educators (FINE), Fédération Internationale des Podologues (FIP), HELB is actively building the academic environment in Belgium.
HELB is developing different scientific directions and invites students to join the research.
HELB tuition fees
The academic calendar at HELB is divided into quarters, however, for convenience tuition fees are calculated per year. Tuition fees at HELB are different for locals and foreigners. Belgium citizens pay 1,071 USD per year, while international students pay a minimum of 2,500 USD. The university has several financial aid programs that help students cover part of the cost of education. Check the university website for up-to-date information on prices and scholarships.
Also, consider other expenses: accommodation, transportation, study materials, meals, and personal expenses.
The campus of the educational institution is located in Brussels. This opens up all the delights of life in a big city for students: a rich infrastructure, a large selection of entertainment, convenient transport, as well as more opportunities for internships or part-time jobs. However, for some students, such an abundance of opportunities can be distracting. During the period of study, students can use the university library, where they can do homework and write scientific papers. Foreigners who come to HELB through exchange programs study and live with local students. Thus, the university promotes intercultural exchange and the establishment of interethnic relations.
What to do after graduation
Students can stay in Belgium for a year after graduation to find a job and change their student visa to a work visa. We talk about other options for immigration in our article.
