Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava (USV) — public non-profit university. It is located in Suceava, Romania. The higher education institution was founded not so long ago — in 1990. USV is working closely with International Association of Universities (IAU), Alliance of Universities for Democracy (AUDEM), Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), European Universities Association (EUA), Reseau Sciences et Francophonie (CIRUISEF), Ether CAT Technology Group.
The university is ranked number 1401 in QS World University Rankings 2025. Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THE), places the university in 1201 position in the world.
USV is developing different scientific directions and invites students to join the research.

The academic calendar at USV is divided into two semesters, as in many other universities in Romania. For convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. Tuition fees at USV are different for locals and foreigners. Romania citizens pay 227 USD per year, while international students pay a minimum of 1,000 USD. With the help of financial support programs, students can partially or fully cover the cost of education. On the official website of the university, you can find all the up-to-date information on tuition fees and available scholarships.
In addition to the cost of education, it is necessary to pay attention to additional costs: accommodation, transportation, study materials, meals and personal expenses.
The campus of USV is urban. This means that students study closely to the sights and the entire recreational infrastructure of the city. This type of campus gives students more options for internships and part-time jobs. There is a library on the grounds of the university. There are collected scientific works of graduates and teachers of the university, as well as fiction. Foreigners who come to USV through exchange programs study and live with local students. Thus, the university promotes intercultural exchange and the establishment of interethnic relations.

There are several options to stay in the country after graduation. One of them is to get an offer from an employer and apply for a work visa. Read more about this on the embassy website. We talk about other options for immigration in our article.
