About YU

Yarmouk University (YU) — public non-profit university. It is located in Irbid, Jordan. The higher education institution was founded not so long ago — in 1976 — which is why it is considered one of the youngest in the country. As a member of International Association of Universities (IAU), Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW), Association of Arab Universities (AARU), YU is actively working on developing the academic environment.

The university is in top-1000 of the best universities in the world, according to QS World University Rankings. The educational institution is in the top-1200 of Times Higher Education World University Ranking.

YU is developing different scientific directions and invites students to join the research.

YU tuition fees

As in many other universities in the country, the academic calendar at YU is divided into two semesters. But for convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. For local citizens, the minimal tuition fee at YU is 10,586 USD. The university provides tuition assistance to some students through financial aid programs. They are available to both locals and foreigners. Check the university website for up-to-date information on prices and scholarships.

In addition to the cost of education, it is necessary to pay attention to additional costs: accommodation, transportation, study materials, meals and personal expenses.

YU campus

The campus of the educational institution is located in Irbid. This opens up all the delights of life in a big city for students: a rich infrastructure, a large selection of entertainment, convenient transport, as well as more opportunities for internships or part-time jobs. However, for some students, such an abundance of opportunities can be distracting. During the period of study, students can use the university library, where they can do homework and write scientific papers. Thanks to international exchange programs at YU, students can communicate with representatives of different countries and nationalities and thus expand their own horizons. And, the university contributes to this by regularly holding joint events for local and foreign students.
