Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT) — public non-profit institution. It is located in Rouyn-Noranda, Canada. The higher education institution was founded not so long ago — in 1970 — which is why it is considered one of the youngest in the country. As an active member of Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), UQAT is participating in developing the academic environment.
UQAT conducts research in many fields of study. For more information, visit the official site.

The academic year at UQAT is divided into trimesters. For convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. One year of studying at UQAT will cost local citizens a minimum of 3,585 USD. For foreigners, the tuition fee is different — from 17,500 USD per year. With the help of financial support programs, students can partially or fully cover the cost of education. The cost of education and the availability of scholarships can be checked on the official website.
Also, be prepared for additional expenses: accommodation, transportation, study materials, meals and personal expenses.
The campus of UQAT is located in Rouyn-Noranda. This is a fairly large city that opens up many opportunities for students: from cafes, restaurants and other entertainment to internships at large companies. But an urban campus can also be a disadvantage, because big city life distracts some students from their studies.
During the period of study, students can use the university library, where they can do homework and write scientific papers. The university has everything for sports: sports grounds and clubs. Not only locals study at UQAT, but also students from other countries. This is a unique opportunity to get in touch with the culture of other countries, meet representatives of different nationalities and make friends around the world.

Canada allows university graduates to stay in the country from 1 to 3 years. To do this, you need to apply for a graduate visa, which allows you to work even without a formal offer from an employer. Look for more immigration options in our article.
