Technical University of Berlin or Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin) - public higher education institution in Germany.

Technical University of Berlin - Description

The TU Berlin is keen to develop its profile as a technical university within the science and business location Berlin. The difference to the other regional higher education institutions is to become clearer. The international standing of the university is also to be improved. In addition to the seven faculties, various centres of excellence are being set up. Faculties and scientific institutes are increasingly taking over administrative responsibilities from the central administration. In order to allow more flexible allocation of funds, a budgeting system is also being introduced. Efficient financial planning is becoming increasingly important as higher education in Berlin faces cut-backs as the city finds itself in dire straits. There will also be changes in the university's administration. In future it will increasingly provide services for researchers, teachers and students, which are the administration's customers. The reform process will also involve measures for environmental conservation. At the end of the reform process, a new TU Berlin will have emerged that is more attractive for students, university personnel, and also for outstanding international scientists.
