You cannot enter a German university after the 11th grade, because schooling there lasts longer than 11 years. First, you need to eliminate the academic difference. To do this, foreign students go through a preparatory year in special educational institutions — Studienkollegs. Before submitting documents to the university, applicants take an English language exam. The university accepts the results of IELTS or TOEFL. The minimum TOEFL score is 80. The IELTS score is not lower than 6.
The campus of KIU is located in Karlsruhe. This is a fairly large city that opens up many opportunities for students: from cafes, restaurants and other entertainment to internships at large companies. But an urban campus can also be a disadvantage, because big city life distracts some students from their studies. The university has a functioning library. In addition to educational materials in various scientific areas, it contains a collection of classical and contemporary literature. Foreigners who come to KIU through exchange programs study and live with local students. Thus, the university promotes intercultural exchange and the establishment of interethnic relations.
