Fernando Pessoa University (UFP) — private non-profit university. It is located in Porto, Portugal. The higher education institution was founded not so long ago — in 1996 — which is why it is considered one of the youngest in the country.
At UFP, you can get a bachelor and master degree in different fields of study.

As in many other universities in the country, the academic calendar at UFP is divided into two semesters. But for convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. Tuition fees at UFP are equal for locals and foreigners, and start from 2,542 USD per year. Thanks to financial support programs, students have the opportunity to fully or partially cover the cost of education. On the official website of the university, you will find all the relevant information about tuition fees and scholarships.
In addition to the cost of education, it is necessary to pay attention to additional costs: accommodation, transportation, study materials, meals and personal expenses.

Before applying to the university, you need to pass an exam for knowledge of the English language. The university accepts the results of IELTS. The minimum score for IELTS is 6.
In order to enroll at UFP for a master's program, you will have to confirm knowledge of the English language. You can do this by passing the exam — IELTS. The IELTS exam must be passed with a score no lower than 6.
The campus of UFP is located in Porto. The urban campus is suitable for those students who, firstly, are used to independence, and secondly, cannot imagine their life without the hustle and bustle of a big metropolis. The university has a library where students can do their homework, write scientific papers or just read interesting books. Foreigners who come to UFP through exchange programs study and live with local students. Thus, the university promotes intercultural exchange and the establishment of interethnic relations.

Portugal allows university graduates to stay in the country for one more year. Graduates can spend this time looking for a job in order to change their visa to a work one. You can find other options for immigration in our article.
