Thompson Rivers University (TRU) — public non-profit university. It is located in Kamloops, Canada. The higher education institution is considered one of the youngest in the country, as it was founded in 1970. TRU is working together with Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), Canadian Virtual University (CVU), Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), Canadian University Press (CUP).
TRU does research in different fields of study and offers bachelor and master programs.

At TRU, the academic calendar is divided into two semesters. However, tuition fees are calculated per year. One year of studying at TRU will cost local citizens a minimum of 218 USD.
