University of Saskatchewan - Description

The University of Saskatchewan (U of S) is a major research-intensive university located in the heart of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Our picturesque campus is home to world-class teaching and research facilities including the Canadian Light Source, Canada’s national synchrotron; the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization International Vaccine Centre (VIDO-InterVac), one of the world’s most advanced containment level 3 facilities; and the Global Institute for Water Security, where key priorities include the sustainable use of the world’s water resources. The U of S offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, diplomas and certificates in nearly 200 fields of study, with especially strong programs in environmental science, agriculture, veterinary medicine and engineering. Due in part to the high quality of research infrastructure, our signature areas of research include: Aboriginal Peoples, agriculture, animal and human health, energy and mineral resources, synchrotron sciences and water security. Over 20,000 students study at the U of S, and our over 143,000 alumni are spread around the world. Our graduates are known for their work ethic, resourceful nature and determination, and will continue to have a global impact as we work together to address the world’s challenges now and in the future.
