About UI
University of Iceland (UI) — public non-profit university. It is located in Reykjavik, Iceland. As an active member of European University Association (EUA), Utrecht Network, UI is participating in developing the academic environment.
UI does research in different fields of study and offers bachelor and master programs.

UI tuition fees
The academic calendar at UI is divided into two semesters, as in many other universities in Iceland. For convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. In Iceland, students do not pay tuition fees at public universities, so studying at UI is free. You will only need to pay semester fees. Thanks to financial support programs, students have the opportunity to fully or partially cover the cost of education. Check the university website for up-to-date information on prices and available scholarships.
Accommodation, transportation, study materials, meals and personal expenses are all things to consider before applying to university.

Bachelor degree at UI
11 years of school is not enough to get into UI. Since students study longer in Iceland, you must first eliminate the academic difference — study for a year at a university in your home country, or take one of the preparatory programs (A-Levels, IB, Foundation, etc.). Before applying, you need to pass the IELTS or TOEFL exam. The minimum TOEFL score is 78. The IELTS score is not lower than 6.5.
Master's degree at UI
When considering candidates for master's programs, the admission committee of the university pays attention to the student's academic performance during the undergraduate program. To confirm your level of English, you must pass IELTS or TOEFL. The minimum IELTS score for admission is 6.5. TOEFL — 79 or higher.
UI campus
The campus of the educational institution is located in Reykjavik. This opens up all the delights of life in a big city for students: a rich infrastructure, a large selection of entertainment, convenient transport, as well as more opportunities for internships or part-time jobs. However, for some students, such an abundance of opportunities can be distracting. The educational institution has its own library. Here, students do their homework or just have a good time reading an interesting book. Student life at UI is filled with intercultural activities, as not only local students study here, but also students from abroad. The exchange of knowledge and experience, networking and new acquaintances — all this is an integral part of studenthood.

What to do after graduation
There are many options to stay in the country after completing your studies at the university. One of them is to get an offer from an employer and apply for a work visa. Detailed information can be found on the embassy website. You can find other options for immigration in our article.
