Iceland Academy of Arts (IAA) — private institution. It is located in Reykjavik, Iceland. The higher education institution was founded not so long ago — in 1998 — which is why it is considered one of the youngest in the country.
IAA is developing different scientific directions and invites students to join the research.
IAA tuition fees
The academic year at IAA is continuous. It means that students have no break between courses. However, for convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. For foreign students, the minimal tuition fee at IAA is 3,266 USD per year. For up-to-date information on scholarships and the cost of education for each program, check the official website of the educational institution.
Accommodation, transportation, study materials, meals and personal expenses are all things to consider before applying to university.
Bachelor degree at IAA
It is not possible to enter an undergraduate program at IAA after the 11th grade. In Iceland, school education lasts longer than 11 years, so applicants need to complete one of the preparatory programs (A-Levels, IB, Foundation, etc.), or study for a year at a university in their home country. Undergraduate studies at IAA are eligible if you pass the entrance exams.
The university campus is located in Reykjavik. The university has a functioning library. In addition to educational materials in various scientific areas, it contains a collection of classical and contemporary literature. The university cares about the physical health of students, so it provides a number of athletic opportunities: sports grounds and various clubs. Thanks to international exchange programs at IAA, students can communicate with representatives of different countries and nationalities and thus expand their own horizons. And, the university contributes to this by regularly holding joint events for local and foreign students.
What to do after graduation
There are many options to stay in the country after completing your studies at the university. One of them is to get an offer from an employer and apply for a work visa. Detailed information can be found on the embassy website. You can find other options for immigration in our article.
