World Maritime University (WMU) — private non-profit university. It is located in Malmoe, Sweden. The higher education institution is considered one of the youngest in the country, as it was founded in 1983. As a part of International Association of Universities (IAU), European University Association (EUA), US Council of Graduate Schools, BIMCO The Baltic & International Maritime Council, WMU is actively building the academic environment in Sweden.
WMU conducts research in many fields of study. For more information, visit the official site.

At WMU, the academic calendar is divided into two semesters. However, tuition fees are calculated per year. For Sweden residents, the minimal tuition fee at WMU is 2,027 USD per year. The university has several financial aid programs that help students cover part of the cost of education. For up-to-date information on scholarships and the cost of education for each program, check the official website of the educational institution.
It is necessary to pay attention to other costs: accommodation, transportation, study materials, food, and personal expenses.
The city campus of WMU provides students with countless opportunities for work and recreation — from sitting in a coffee shop with a laptop to internships at large companies. Malmoe has a well developed entertainment infrastructure, but the rhythm of the big city can be distracting for some students. Students have access to the extensive scientific library of the university. The collection of scientific papers helps them in conducting research. Thanks to international exchange programs at WMU, students can communicate with representatives of different countries and nationalities and thus expand their own horizons. And, the university contributes to this by regularly holding joint events for local and foreign students.

After graduation, you can stay in Sweden for 1 year. This time is enough to find a job and change your student visa to a work one. You can find other options for immigration in our article.
