Trinity College Dublin’s 47 acre campus is situated in the centre of Ireland’s capital city, where cobbled squares, historic buildings and playing fields stand alongside state-of-the-art facilities such as the Science Gallery, the nanoscience research centre (CRANN), the Long Room Hub Institute for Arts and Humanities, the Biomedical Sciences Institute, and The Lir Academy for Dramatic Art. Its Library contains 5 million volumes and an extensive collection of manuscripts, the most famous being the Book of Kells. Today Trinity has a vibrant international community of almost 17,000 students, 92,000 alumni and 2,860 members of staff. The student population represents 122 nationalities. Description of Trinity College Dublin

Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin is recognised internationally as Ireland’s premier university and as one of the world’s leading research-intensive universities.Founded in 1592 and located in an historic campus in the heart of the capital city, Trinity is home to 17,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students across all the major disciplines in the arts and sciences, as well as in business, law, engineering, and health sciences.Trinity’s interdisciplinary approach to research is reflected in the university’s research institutes and centres, which include the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute, the Trinity Long Room Hub for arts and humanities, the CRANN institute for nanoscience and the Institute for Molecular Medicine. Research and teaching collaborations connect Trinity to higher education institutions around the world, from London to Kigali to Beijing. The university generates a fifth of all Irish spin-out companies, in areas as diverse as medical devices, computer gaming, new materials, agri-food, and social enterprise; and it contributes to Ireland’s distinctive reputation for creative arts by educating actors, directors, writers, composers and musicians through the Lir Academy of Dramatic Art, the Oscar Wilde Centre for Creative Writing, and the Centre for Music Composition. Trinity’s tradition of independent intellectual inquiry has produced some of the world’s finest, most original minds including writers Oscar Wilde and Samuel Beckett, scientists William Rowan Hamilton and Ernest Walton, political thinker Edmund Burke, and former President of Ireland and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson. This tradition finds expression today in a campus culture of scholarship, innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship and dedication to societal reform.Trinity’s 103,000 alumni live and work in 130 countries worldwide, and this global dimension is reflected on campus, where students represent 120 different nationalities. Trinity’s wealth of attractions include the Book of Kells and the Science Gallery. The university is a leading visitor destination, welcoming over a million visitors annually
