Aalto University was established in 2010 through a merger of three renowned universities in the Helsinki metropolitan area in Finland. Aalto University offers more than 90 degree programmes at bachelor, master and doctoral level, leading to degrees in the fields of technology, business, art, design and architecture. Aalto University encourages its students to engage in multidisciplinary projects and practice-oriented learning. Description of Aalto University

Established in 2010, Aalto University is a new university with centuries of experience. It was created from the merger of three Finnish universities: The Helsinki School of Economics, Helsinki University of Technology and The University of Art and Design Helsinki. From the 1st of January 2012 Aalto University consists of six schools, which are the following: School of Arts, Design and Architecture School of Chemical Technology School of Economics School of Electrical Engineering School of Engineering School of Science Aalto University works towards a better world through top-quality research, interdisciplinary collaboration, pioneering education, surpassing traditional boundaries, and enabling renewal. The University educates responsible, broadminded experts with a comprehensive understanding of complex subjects to act as society's visionaries.
