Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (IPV) — public non-profit institution. It is located in Viseu, Portugal. The higher education institution was founded not so long ago — in 1979. IPV is working closely with European Association of International Education (EAIE), Eurashe (European Association of Institutions in Higher Education), Crossborder University League of Castela and Leão and the Central Region of Portugal, AULP (Association of Portuguese Speaking Universities), Innovawood (European Network for Wood Industry).
IPV carries out research in several scientific areas.

At IPV, the academic calendar is divided into two semesters. However, tuition fees are calculated per year. For local citizens, tuition fees at IPV start from 1,130 USD. International students pay a minimum of 1,000 USD per year. With the help of financial support programs, students can partially or fully cover the cost of education. On the official website of the university, you can find all the up-to-date information on tuition fees and available scholarships.
Also, be prepared for additional expenses: accommodation, transportation, study materials, meals and personal expenses.
The city campus of IPV provides students with countless opportunities for work and recreation — from sitting in a coffee shop with a laptop to internships at large companies. Viseu has a well developed entertainment infrastructure, but the rhythm of the big city can be distracting for some students. The university has a library, in the collection of which you will find not only textbooks and scientific works, but also works of the classics, modern literature and much more. IPV accepts students for international exchange programs. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in intercultural communication for both international and local students.

Students are allowed to stay in the country for a year after graduation. To do this, you need to extend your student visa or apply for a job seeker visa. We talk about other options for immigration in our article.
