Getting to know the mentor
What is the hardest thing about being a mentor?
Among the many tasks that I perform as a mentor, one of the most challenging is to choose the ideal program that would meet all the wishes and requirements of the applicant. Selecting the right educational institutions and programs largely affects the result of admission. It is at this stage that the most serious intellectual work has to be done.
What is the question most frequently asked by applicants?
"Can I apply to multiple universities in different countries at the same time?"
I will answer straight away: it is not only possible, but also necessary. Doing so helps minimize risks and enhance your chances of admission.
Why did you choose to learn English?
My parents went to great lengths to make me fall in love with this language, instilling in me the belief that success in any field is simply impossible without English.
As far as I can remember, probably from the age of four, English has been a constant companion in my life: English vocabulary books, cartoons, music, and much more. During my childhood, my mother studied alongside me, and later I had the pleasure of learning the language with private teachers. Growing older, English became almost native to me — I could spend hours listening to radio stations and watching TV shows in the language, deriving immense pleasure from it all.
The global reach of English has always fascinated me. From its humble origins as the language of a small nation, it has now become spoken on every continent and studied in every country.
I don’t want to underestimate the importance of other languages, but I can’t overlook the fact that English is indispensable in the modern world. Firstly, it is the language "spoken" by most business sectors. Secondly, it is the universally recognized language of the contemporary digital era. Thirdly, it proves irreplaceable during travels. It so happens that this language helps us understand the world and enables communication with individuals from any nation.
Why did you decide to help students study abroad?
During my own school years, I had a strong desire to get an education abroad. At that time, it felt like an unattainable goal. However, after graduating from school, I had the fortunate opportunity to study at one of oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe.
It was a period of my life filled with excitement: amazing travels, encounters with remarkable individuals, and the acquisition of extensive knowledge. In the process of adapting to the country, navigating challenges, and immersing myself in learning, I gained a unique life experience that undoubtedly holds value for the future.
I really want to help ambitious and talented young people receive a quality education — which, in turn, opens up many opportunities for practice in large companies and employment.
Do you have a favorite country or specialization that you enjoy working with?
I have a special love for prestigious UK universities and Ivy League institutions.
How many countries have you visited, and what was your most memorable trip?
I have had the opportunity to explore thirteen captivating corners of our beautiful planet.
While traveling, I completely immersed myself in the rich cultures of these countries. However, one trip stands out vividly in my memory: a visit to the principality of Monaco. There, I was fortunate enough to witness the legendary Monaco Grand Prix championship and step foot into one of the most prestigious and historic gambling establishments in the world, the Monte Carlo Casino. The experience filled me with exhilarating emotions and unforgettable thrills.
How do you relax or spend your free time?
Whenever I have some free time, my go-to activity is swimming. Water is my natural element! Also, I frequently engage in combat sambo classes and play chess. I have been playing the latter since my childhood, believing it to be the ultimate tool for personal growth and development. Apart from that, I love watching arthouse movies.
