University of Canberra (UC) — public non-profit university. It is located in Canberra, Australia. The higher education institution was founded not so long ago — in 1967 — which is why it is considered one of the youngest in the country. As a member of Universities Australia, Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL), Australian National Business Schools, UC is actively working on developing the academic environment.
The university is among the top-400 best institutions in the word, according to QS International Ranking. The educational institution is in 401 position of Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THE).
UC does research in different fields of study and invites students to bachelor, master and doctorate programs.

As in many other universities in the country, the academic calendar at UC is divided into two semesters. But for convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. One year of studying at UC will cost local citizens a minimum of 2,616 USD. For foreigners, the tuition fee is different — from 8,880 USD per year. Thanks to scholarships and financial aid, university students have the opportunity to fully or partially cover the cost of education. Check the university website for up-to-date information on prices and scholarships.
Accommodation, transportation, study materials, meals and personal expenses are all things to consider before applying to university.

11 years of school is not enough to get into UC. Since students study longer in Australia, you must first eliminate the academic difference — study for a year at a university in your home country, or take one of the preparatory programs (A-Levels, Foundation, etc.). Before applying to the university, you need to pass an exam for knowledge of the English language. The university accepts the results of IELTS, PTE or TOEFL. The minimum TOEFL score is 46. The IELTS score is not lower than 5.5. A subject exam is required. The university relies on the A-Level results.
When considering candidates for master's programs, the admission committee of the university pays attention to the student's academic performance during the undergraduate program. It is impossible to enter UC for a master's program without confirming knowledge of the English language. You can do this by passing IELTS, PTE or TOEFL. The minimum IELTS score for admission is 6.5. TOEFL — 79 or higher.
If you decide to pursue a career in science and enroll in a doctoral program, you must pass the language exam — IELTS or PTE. For the IELTS exam, the result must be at least 6.5.
The suburban campus of UC combines features of an urban and rural campus. It is located outside the big city, which allows you to focus on your studies. However, it is also not too far, opening up access to more types of recreation, both outdoors and in the city (theaters, museums, restaurants). During the period of study, students can use the university library, where they can do homework and write scientific papers. Not only locals study at UC, but also students from other countries. This is a unique opportunity to get in touch with the culture of other countries, meet representatives of different nationalities and make friends around the world.

In Australia, you can stay for a period of 1.5 to 4 years after graduation. To do this, you must obtain a graduate visa — it allows you to work in the country without changing your visa to a work one. We talk about other options for immigration in our article.
