School education in Norway lasts longer than 11 grades. Therefore, in order to enter an undergraduate program at HiOA, applicants must complete 1 year of university in their home country or take one of the preparatory programs (A-Levels, IB, Foundation, etc.).
The city campus of HiOA provides students with countless opportunities for work and recreation — from sitting in a coffee shop with a laptop to internships at large companies. Oslo has a well developed entertainment infrastructure, but the rhythm of the big city can be distracting for some students. The university students have access to the library.
