University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) — public non-profit university. It is located in Norway. It is one of the youngest higher education institutions in the country.

The academic year at UNIS is continuous. It means that students have no break between courses. However, for convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. At UNIS, education is free for everyone, both in Norwegian and English. But for admission to such programs, you should know the language at least at a B2 level. School education in Norway lasts longer than 11 grades. Therefore, in order to enter an undergraduate program at UNIS, applicants must complete 1 year of university in their home country or take one of the preparatory programs (A-Levels, IB, Foundation, etc.).
The campus of the educational institution is located in the countryside, so it is especially suitable for nature lovers. Since it is located away from the city, students hold all activities on campus and thus create a close-knit community. The advantages of this location include access to various types of outdoor recreation and fewer distractions from study than in a city.
