Admission to National Singapore University – first-hand experience

Well, I’ve graduated from the Faculty of Law at the Russian university and later on, I’ve made up my mind to promote my qualification abroad. I happened to travel a lot in the west, though I came to the idea to settle in the unique place virgin to me for the following several years. I thirsted for some exotic countries but I faced lots of downsides when living in Asia. On the other hand, Singapore appeared to be the country I was looking for after a pile of information I searched.

My target was the Faculty of Law at the National University of Singapore (NUS) to be included in the top world’s universities and ranked first in Asia.

Preparation of application documents

Singapore was like a mysterious country unknown to me. Besides, the education system and enrollment process seemed to be very uncertain to me, at first.

I picked details up but I felt a little bit afraid to lurk out and decided to refer to experts. They are involved in such a business for a long time to be in the course of all reefs. To be honest, I was not willing to lose a year to risk.

I sent my Diploma of Bachelor of Law, TOEFL iBT (99) results and other official documents online at the UniPage website and I had to wait only.

Arrival of the letter of acceptance from NUS

So far, everything was fine. I suppose I received the reply from the University of Singapore for such a short period of time due to lack of red tape in Singapore. I was offered an interview via Skype. That sounded good to me since it was the proof that I was distinguished against others by the commission and, moreover, I could save on travel to Singapore just for the interview.

That’s worth noting that the entire enrollment process takes 3 month, on average. This is not long as compared with that adopted by other tertiary education institutions. In most cases the deadline for application is a year before the study period starts. I sent my application docs in mid-January and got the reply in early April.

I faced no problems to get my student visa with my letter of acceptance from the NUS.

Summary

In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that the most challenging stage of foreign university admission appeared not so difficult and this business is not as complicated as it is described on most online resources. The next stage is arrival to my vacation destination and study at the National University of Singapore. This is going to be the next story of mine.
