As in many other universities in the country, the academic calendar at UO is divided into two semesters. But for convenience, tuition fees are calculated per year. Tuition fees here are different for locals and foreigners. For locals, it starts from 3,274 USD, and for foreigners — a minimum of 4,121 USD. It is not possible to enter an undergraduate program at UO after the 11th grade. In New Zealand, school education lasts longer than 11 years, so applicants need to complete one of the preparatory programs (A-Levels, Foundation, etc.), or study for a year at a university in their home country. Before submitting documents to the university, applicants take an English language exam. The university accepts the results of IELTS, PTE or TOEFL. The minimum TOEFL score is 80. The IELTS score is not lower than 6. A subject exam is required. The university relies on the SAT results.
When considering candidates for master's programs, the admission committee of the university pays attention to the student's academic performance during the undergraduate program. It is impossible to enter UO for a master's program without confirming knowledge of the English language. You can do this by passing IELTS, PTE or TOEFL. The minimum IELTS score for admission is 5.5. TOEFL — 80 or higher. There is an opportunity for admission to online master's programs at UO.
If you are applying for a doctoral program, you must pass the language exam — IELTS, PTE, TOEFL or CAE. TOEFL — 90 points and above.
